Slocum Dickson Educational Institute is the Founding Sponsor of Makeover My Heart

Heart disease is the #1 killer of women.   Established in 2008, Makeover My Heart is a 501(C) 3 not for profit organization and part of the Slocum Dickson Educational Institute.  Each year, we host a sell-out event that welcomes more than 325 women for a full day of education.   From lectures to interactive clinics, to our health and wellness area, Makeover My Heart offers a uniquely innovative learning experience that is affordable and fun.  As a participating sponsor, you play a vital role in supporting our mission to raise awareness about women and heart disease.  By partnering with us, you help to provide women with the tools necessary for achieving and maintaining ideal heart health.   

Although our primary focus is education, an equally important objective is keeping Makeover My Heart affordable.  Sponsors play a critical role in this effort, offsetting the majority of costs associated with the program.   Thanks to generous patrons admission to our annual program is only $20 per person, which includes all lectures, interactive clinics, breakfast, lunch and more.

Makeover My Heart Vendors  

Vendors play a unique role in this very special event.  Although our primary focus is education, Makeover My Heart has created the casual feel of a "girls day out"  by including some fun and pampering.    Our Health and Wellness area offers a variety of information including demonstrations, health assessment screening, as well as complimentary spa services to guests throughout the day.  In return, we offer  a variety of advertising and promotional services designed to assist you. 

What is the role of Vendors at Makeover My Heart?

The role of Vendors is to provide one or a combination of complimentary health and wellness services to guests.  Services  can include: 

Health and Wellness Information such as nutritional services, information, cooking demonstrations, weight loss, exercise demonstrations, relaxation techniques, etc.

Health and Wellness Screening such as blood pressure readings, cholesterol analysis, body fat analysis, diabetes screening, risk factor profiles, etc.

Complimentary Spa Services such as massage, facials, yoga, reiki, aromatherapy, makeovers, etc.

How does being a Vendor benefit me and my business?

Vendors are located in our health and wellness area which is open to guests throughout the day of the event.  Being a Vendor at Makeover My Heart allows you a unique opportunity to showcase your business to more than 325 women in one setting.  Vendors can interact with potential clients in a relaxed, informal atmosphere.     

What do Vendors receive?

In return for your participation, Vendors receive:

Access to more than 325 women.  Vendors can distribute advertising materials, samples, contact information, coupons, special offers to guests, etc.

Complimentary booth space ( including your choice of up to 2 tables and chairs)

Free advertising in our Program booklet and website. 

In addition, we also provide you with a light breakfast and boxed lunch.

What are my obligations as a Vendor?

Vendors must provide a complimentary health and wellness service to guests throughout the day  (8am - 2:30 pm) 

Each Vendor must provide a gift basket or gift certificate with a retail value of $100 or more.  This item will be given away at the event.

How do I become a Vendor?

All Vendors must review and submit a signed application (see below)

Applications are reviewed by the Board of Makeover My Heart

Vendors will be notifed in writing of their acceptance within 45 days of their application being received.

A common question from Vendors is whether or not goods or services can be sold at Makeover My Heart

The focus of Makeover My Heart is education and wellness.  Therefore, we have established a strict NO SALES policy for Vendors at our event.    The only sales taking place at the event is Makeover My Heart merchandise, the proceeds of which help offset costs associated with the program.   We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
